Bethesda announced that nearly five million players engaged with a Fallout game in one day, driven by the TV show’s surge in popularity. The franchise’s official Twitter profile disclosed that over one million people played Fallout 76 in a single 24-hour period, most likely over the weekend. Considering the entire RPG series, the total reached close to five million players on the same day.

This spike in interest is attributed to the success of its TV adaptation by Amazon Prime, which, following many positive reviews—including our glowing assessment—has become one of the current most popular television series. With a second season approved, fans are revisiting older games in large numbers while awaiting new episodes.

Last week, sales of Fallout 4 in Europe increased by an astonishing 7,500 percent, and titles like Fallout 76, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 3 were among the top 10 best-sellers. This surge in sales is likely to continue as Bethesda prepares to release updated versions of Fallout 4 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Thursday. These versions will include new graphical modes and Creation Club content and offer a free upgrade for existing PS4 owners. However, there’s only one day left to secure it at the lowest price during the ongoing PS Store sale.
